Community Outreach Series Hits Halfway Mark

Many Plans One Community recently hosted its third Community Outreach Series workshop, marking the halfway point in the first outreach phase for updates to the Charlottesville and Albemarle County Comprehensive Plans and MPO Long Range Transportation Plan. The Community Outreach Series was created to provide citizens with the opportunity to learn about what's in existing plans and provide feedback about how these plans can better serve the needs of our community.  Information is presented in an interactive format, giving community members ample opportunity to make comments or suggestions about how existing plans and policies can be improved.

To date 184 City and County residents have attended the three workshops, which have addressed topics ranging from the environment to land use & transportation to housing & economic drivers. Input received at these workshops will be taken into consideration by the City, County and MPO as each begin their respective plan updates.  Transcripts of public comments received at each workshop as well as a workshop brief summarizing public comments on each topic can be found on our Meetings & Events page

The next workshop in the series will be held on Thursday, January 26 at TJPDC’s Water Street Center and will focus on addressing the anticipated long range demands on our transportation network.  Community members are welcome to stop by anytime throughout the 4-7 pm timeframe. Don’t miss this important opportunity to get involved with planning for the future of our region!  Be sure to download the Community Outreach Series schedule to find out when the remaining workshops in the series will take place.
